How Music Can Keep Your Heart Healthy

A recent study by the European Society of Cardiology used different measurements to see the effects of different music on the heart. 149 participates would listen to either yoga music, pop music, or no music (silence) for 5 minutes before bed.

The researchers found that yoga music dropped anxiety levels significantly and felt more positive. Pop music decreased heart rate variability and caused anxiety. After silence many reported a spike in anxiety.

More research is needed to understand but the conclusion of the study found that yoga or spa music is a “cheap way to sooth people before sleep, an easy to implement therapy, and cannot cause harm”.
